As Desert Financial Credit Unions Sr. Accounting Analyst, you will, prepare the accounting and financial reporting function of the Credit Union including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance, month-end close, internal and external financial reporting and supporting internal/external audits and regulatory exams.Our salary Range for this opportunity is between $72,330.87 - $105,496.30 based on experience !

What you will do here:
Prepare the accounting and financial reporting function of the Credit Union including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance, month-end close, internal and external financial reporting and supporting internal/external audits and regulatory exams.
Conduct financial analysis with preparation of monthly financial reports and sales/service volume reports for management.
Complete internal financial reporting and processes
Responsible for completing FR2900 regulatory report. (completed weekly)
Reconcile Shares and Loans daily
Reconcile credit card statements to include posting transactions to the GL
Calculate, prepare and conduct financial analysis for sale tax payments for safety deposit box
Process AP Check run, review coding and approval process
Record OREO charge offs and sale proceeds
Identify and implement process improvements, and execute the month-end close and account reconciliations
Map general ledger accounts to the appropriate line items on the internal/external financial statements and regulatory filings
Assist during the month-end close process including preparing/reviewing journal entries and completing assigned balance sheet reconciliations within set timeframe
Assist with data compilation and coordination of internal and external audit reviews and regulatory exams
Perform special projects and other job-related duties as assigned
What you will need:
5+ years of accounting, preferably in the banking industry
Bachelor Degree Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field desired and/or educationand experience combined
Accounting, Finance and/or business operations. System and software implementation, database and data mart administration, research and analysis to support variances and system out of balance conditions.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls; competent understanding of core banking functions.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel are essential with an emphasis on building new spreadsheets, and using advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, and IF() statements. Ability to successfully utilize accounting software system(s), Microsoft Word and Outlook to complete assigned work/projects.
Extensive financial analysis skills - including variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling; Knowledge of Great Plains
Bonus points if you have experience with BI360 data warehouse
