The role
SoFi is searching for a senior accountant to support our growing business. This role will be a key contributor in supporting the daily operations of the accounting team, with a focus on equity accounting as well as other responsibilities based in Cottonwood Heights, UT. The right person will thrive with the eagerness to learn, using innovative approach to solving problems, ready to accept new challenges, and willing to contribute to improving our end-to-end equity process.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare journal entries, analyze fluctuations in results and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting process for equity accounting
- Support business partners with equity related analysis
- Produce analyses to support other business functions in management decision making
- Provide support in the preparation of quarterly SEC financial filings
- Assist with year-end annual audit as well as internal audit and SOX requests
What you’ll need:
- 3-5 years of experience in a professional, fast-moving environment
- Master’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2+ years accounting experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum 3+ years of accounting experience
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience in a public company environment preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to function in a highly collaborative environment
- Must demonstrate attention to detail, analytical abilities and consistent follow-through, including project management skills
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including legal, HR, tax, payroll, and finance
