Position Overview:

The Sr. Accountant will report to the Manager/Director of Consolidation and Reporting and is responsible for the preparation of the worldwide consolidation, preparation of Financial Statements and all SEC filings.  The successful candidate will establish relationships across multiple business segments/brands and provide the necessary data, presentation, and analysis aimed at driving brand recognition for RBI to the investor community.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing relationships across multiple business brands (i.e. Tim Hortons, Burger King, Popeyes, Firehouse Subs) and providing the necessary data, presentation, and analysis aimed at driving brand recognition for RBI to the investor community
  • Responsible for preparation of quarterly and annual consolidation of Global Financial results
  • Responsible for preparation of the 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K (earnings release)
  • Participate in special projects


Essential Duties:

  • Prepare the consolidation of Global Financial results including preparation of world wide consolidated balance sheets, cash flows, profit and loss statements and various supplemental schedules.
  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and year-end actual results reported internally to management and externally to investors, lenders, franchisees, etc. including presentations, Board reports and press releases.
  • Assist with the SEC filing process and documents (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K’s, etc.) and establish procedures to ensure compliance with SEC guidelines
  • Prepare US GAAP interim and annual financial statements with related footnotes. Prepare financial statement disclosures, earnings releases, and analyst presentations
  • Prepare quarterly earnings deliverables: earnings release, conference call script, Q&A document and supplemental data
  • Prepare and document processes and procedures of internal controls
  • Provide support and guidance to accounting staff at each brand
  • Liaise with cross functional teams including Legal, HR, Investor Relations, Treasury and Tax in order to ensure the Company maintains proper Disclosure and Controls procedures
  • Coordinate and facilitate quarterly reviews and year end audits performed by external auditors
  • Lead or participate in various special projects


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field - master's degree preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of accounting experience is required - CPA preferred
  • SEC reporting and International consolidation experience preferred
  • Strong interpretation, decision-making and analytical capabilities, and skills in the area of accounting for US GAAP reporting requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as position has direct contact with numerous departments within and outside RBI including external auditors and consultants
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting reporting deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of OneStream and accounting systems (SAP) is helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
