The Senior Manager - Technical Revenue Accounting will be responsible for tasks supporting the Revenue Accounting Organization with processes, functional knowledge and policy knowledge to ensure Genesys revenue accounting is in compliance with ASC 606.

The individual will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate reporting of revenue as per Genesys Revenue policy. The Revenue Recognition Policy Senior Manager will provide technical accounting guidance and critical review and documentation of new business practices. Key functions involve: identifying business requirements, performing critical accounting analysis and updating policy in alignment with US GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

• Own, update and publish current Genesys Revenue and Accounting policies in compliance with ASC 606.
• Evaluate and update policies for all new standards / interpretations and liaise with new product integration team to operationalize accounting
• Gain a solid understanding of current and future Revenue Recognition and Accounting reporting requirements, backend systems and current data collected.
• Ensure that reports and documentation comply with Genesys business practices, operational processes, accounting policies, and US GAAP reporting guidelines.
• Develop and maintain process documentation for all accounting memorandums
• Coordinate with our external auditors for the quarterly reviews and year-end audits, including discussing technical revenue accounting issues
• Assist and support the reporting related items for month-end and quarter-end.
• Present reporting requirements to management and make recommendation
• Maintain great relationships with business partners (Deal Desk, Sales, Legal) and accounting peers to address and educate on technical accounting conclusions
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as needed

Requirements:

• 4+ years of related experience, including experience in revenue recognition, technical accounting, or revenue operations in a publicly-traded technology company.
• Deep knowledge and technical understanding of Software Revenue Recognition Accounting - ASC 606 in SaaS business models
• Confidence and proven record to communicate both orally and written, including the dissemination of technical information
• Ability to interact effectively with sales and product teams, functional peer groups and subordinates and to gain cooperation from others, especially those in other departments, as well as with outside auditors and outside legal counsel
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and fast-paced remote-only environment.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines
• Problem solver: Candidate should be a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation with great attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

• Public accounting experience (with Big 4 or similar firm), at the manager level
• Experience using Salesforce.com, RevPro and NetSuite
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Qualified Accountant (ICAI, CCAB, CPA or equivalent)
