The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for processing financial information and performing financial analysis.

What will you be doing?

  • Compiles, maintains, and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to the general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the fixed asset sub ledger, including the entry of additions and disposals, posting of monthly depreciation and an annual physical inventory.
  • Responsible for maintaining prepaid amortization schedules.
  • Maintains various accounting statements and financial reports, demonstrates general knowledge of payables/receivables, invoices, purchasing, expense reports, discounts, and cost centers.
  • Devises and implements system for general accounting; maybe required to make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Responds to questions and research's complex accounting issues as required.
  • Reports any discrepancies, changes, or recommendations, and/or problems for resolution to management.
  • Works proactively on being an Accounting and Finance Business Partner to all functional areas.
  • Maintains journal entry and reconciliation logs.
  • Prepares royalty check requests.
  • Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly Cash Flow Reports.
  • Compiles weekly internal Financial Report.
  • Assists in preparation of Monthly Reporting Package submitted to Headquarters.
  • Prepares quarterly schedules for HQ.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding financial reporting matters.
  • Assists with both external (PWC) and internal (HQ) financial audits.
  • Prepares required schedules for all audits.
  • Prepares Fixed Expense Workbook.
  • Performs Service Department Analysis.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned by Accounting and Finance management.

What skills and expertise do you bring to the job?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, both verbal and written with all levels of the business.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Gaming licensure.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, including Access and Excel.
  • Computer literacy in accounting software, Lotus Notes or other communication software experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in SAP, Pronto training or equivalent.
