Job Description

As a member of the Corporate team, you will be a part of the backbone of a company that builds and brings to market artificial intelligence technologies, including natural language processing and cognitive computing. You will build best practices that will serve internal (and sometimes external) customers and business partners.

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the monthly close process, the preparation of monthly journal entries, financial statements, and monthly account reconciliations.  In addition, this role will be responsible for the assessment of technical accounting matters including preparation of whitepapers ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. The Senior Staff Accountant role will support special projects within the Accounting and Shared Services team, including Tax.

• Prepare consolidated financial statements by researching and analyzing information from the general ledger system.

• Prepare and reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.

• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

• Answer accounting and financial questions based on researching and interpreting data in accordance with the authoritative guidance.

• Prepare technical accounting analysis and memoranda for internal and external purposes (ex. ASC 606 and ASC 842)

• Collaborate and support ad hoc projects within the Accounting and Shared Services Team

• Maintain company confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

• Minimum of three years relevant experience.

• Motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.

• Naturally curious and actively challenged to identify and implement new ideas.

• Excellent computer skills. 

• Exceptional problem solving abilities. 

• Advanced MS Excel expertise.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills; accuracy is essential.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.

Preferred:

• Small company/start-up experience highly desired

• Public Accounting experience strongly preferred.

• Workday experience highly desired. 

• Masters Degree preferred.

• CPA.
