Why we’re hiring
Alloy is scaling rapidly and we’re looking to expand the technical accounting expertise in our growing finance team. You will play a critical role in managing the day to day operations of the accounting function as well as being a key player in implementing processes, automation, and best practices to support our high-growth organization. A key element of this role is ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of revenue in accordance with ASC 606 so the ideal candidate will have experience in the SaaS industry. We’re looking for someone who is a team player, self-starter, great communicator with impressive organizational skills and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive the month-end close process, including reviewing monthly journal entries and related account reconciliations
- Oversee reconciliations of general ledger accounts, credit card purchases and daily bank activity
- Challenge the “status quo”; lead process and system improvements to streamline accounting processes and shorten the month-end close timelines
- Review customer contracts for application of appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Collaborate with deal desk and advise revenue operations, sales and legal teams on terms in the customer order form that impact revenue and cash flow
- Maintain the revenue recognition software to ensure accurate billings, revenue recognition and revenue mapping to the general ledger
- Work closely with cross functional teams to maintain the data hygiene of source systems (e.g. Salesforce)
- Work closely with our Data Engineering team to ensure accurate flow of data from production to billing system
- Assist with the preparation of accounting memos and related analyses to document the company's position on technical accounting matters
- Support the year-end financial statement audit, working directly with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely process.
- Supervising a team of junior accountants
Who We're Looking For
- BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting
- 6+ years of accounting or related finance experience, including experience in the the SaaS industry
- Knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 required
- Experience with Salesforce and Netsuite preferred
- Experience with Ordway a plus
- Experience at a startup or high growth company a preferred
- Experience in managing a team of junior accountants, AR and AP staff
- Strong accountability and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work cross functionally at various levels within a company
