The role:
- SoFi is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing accounting team.
What you’ll do:
- Support the monthly close process in preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Review billings and maintain accurate account receivable aging and reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Update and maintain revenue and AR accounting policies
- Review new and existing revenue contracts and programs, and maintain consistent documentation of ASC 606 application
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners in finance, engineering, internal audit on processes and projects
- Perform and improve internal controls
- Support financial reporting and external audit requirements
- Assist in ad-hoc analysis and projects for revenue and accounting teams
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent.
- 3+ years of professional experience in public accounting or industry with working experience of US GAAP
- Knowledge and experience in revenue recognition under ASC 606 and/or AR
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skill and ability to analyze data sets
Nice to have:
- CPA certification is a plus
- Hands-on experience in the financial close process
- Experience with Netsuite or other large financial systems
- Experience in managing process improvement
- Proficiency in SQL
- Public company experience
