The Senior Manager of Payments Financial Operations will be responsible for supporting the rapid growth of payments capabilities within the broader Kabbage platform. You will use your knowledge of the payments industry to establish, document, and scale financial operations for our merchant acceptance business. This will include identifying problems, communicating with key stakeholders on solutions, designing improvements to the customer settlement experience, and participating in bringing new capabilities to market. By employing a data-driven approach, you will identify the needs of Kabbage customers and deliver innovative solutions.

As a part of Kabbage, you will find opportunities to partner with other innovative product teams to build solutions that reinforce and amplify the overarching customer experience. By collaborating closely with Product Strategy, Development, and Technology teams, you will engage a strong user platform for bringing new payments capabilities to the market. Partnerships with leaders in Marketing, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Compliance will ensure the long-term growth of Kabbage Payments.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the execution of the product strategy and product roadmap for Kabbage Payments. This includes meeting the payment processing needs of our small business customers while ensuring the product meets established performance metrics
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the payment process and the ability to trace the flow of funds between the Kabbage payment facilitation platform and all processing partners
  • Leverage data driven approaches to improve the settlement and funding experience of customers
  • Engage in resolving exception events, including the chargeback and retrieval process
  • Independently assess the financial operational risk of new products and product improvement
  • Manage corrective action and process risk self-assessment efforts, identifying opportunities for improvements through process simplification and closure
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with key internal partners to ensure performance meets established legal, regulatory, and risk requirements
  • Engage with third party relationships related to the payment processing


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in payments operations
  • Experience in payment facilitation and payments processing preferred
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including business and technology teams
  • Expertise in working with technology enabled business processes, with an understanding of the associated opportunities and risks
  • Self-starter and solutions-driven, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience and comfort working closely with all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor's degree with work experience in payments acquiring/payments processing
