THE ROLE
This Global Payroll Manager will oversee the comprehensive "end-to-end" processing, calculation, and settlement of hourly and salaried payroll inclusive of commissions for all employee positions worldwide as well as the administration of payroll through Workday payroll and ADP. The Global Payroll Manager will also understand the back end administration as well as stock option calculations. This position will collaborate with finance, HR, and business leadership to ensure operational alignment, and is expected to lead and mentor the payroll team. The role will also know the HCM and payroll tool Workday. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills, and will be comfortable taking initiative to solve problems and help drive greater efficiency and process automation.The Global Payroll Manager is accountable for the payroll systems and operational excellence for a fast-growing and industry-leading sales and operations organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Administer and manage day to day operations of our payroll for hourly and salaried personnel globally, ensuring payments are settled accurately/timely and paid in accordance with approved provisions
  • Ensure successful implementation, change management, and ongoing use of payroll programs
  • Responsible for payroll governance including creation and maintenance of the payroll policy, processes and related internal controls
  • Hire and mentor team regarding payroll processes and policy changes as appropriate
  • Calculate payroll and tax impact for stock options as well as the nuances of payroll tax oversight for the US, Canada, and Australia
  • Serve as a diplomatic, timely point of contact for employees, managers and sales leaders to address questions regarding payroll
  • Perform research as needed to help resolve issues, and develop appropriate solutions to resolve exception payment requirements
  • Ensure recurring reports are published on time and manage timely provision of ad-hoc analytics and reporting needs
  • Be a power user of Workday (3-5 years experience is a must)
  • Support audit deliverables related to payroll and provide assistance related to controls testing of payroll processes
  • Correspond with VP's, Directors, Managers and Payees regarding payroll administration
  • Perform payroll related quarter and year end procedures and reporting, including overseeing coordination between Workday and ADP
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll payments
  • Perform research and provide guidance and subject matter expertise on best practices for payroll policies and processes including automation and systems
  • Reconciles payroll registers to outgoing funds and accruals, including direct deposits, taxes 401k, HSA and FSA
  • Ensure correct payroll liabilities by reviewing the calculation of employee federal, state, province, and local income and tax deduction and filing requirements and payments
  • Stay current on regulations and guidance for in scope countries
  • Drive and create a culture of continuous process improvement and innovation measured by effective operations and positive and proactive stakeholder partnership


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Business, Accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in payroll administration in a global environment
  • Ability and experience effectively collaborating cross-functionally, partnering with management, finance, and HR to drive business performance and to ensure alignment and an understanding of the plans
  • Meticulous, highly organized and self-directed approach to work
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment and prioritize competing tasks in time-constrained situations
  • 3-5 years of experience with Workday payroll is a must
  • Experience implementing Workday payroll
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including use of Excel or Sheets
  • A willingness to work in a self-guided and ever-changing environment with time sensitive deadlines
  • Creative, intellectually curious and able to scale steep learning curves quickly
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills


The following represents FBN's reasonable estimate of the US national average base salary range of possible compensation for this role based on market data and placement of internal employees: $140,000 - $165,000.
This salary range may vary based on geography and variations in cost of labor. Beyond the above or adjusted to market salary range, FBN also offers all full-time employees competitive equity compensation, health and wellness benefits, and various perks.
