Job summary
Work as a consultative and strategic financial partner to stakeholders and leaders of our corporate functional teams, including the People (HR), Finance, Global Workplace Solutions (GWS), Legal, and Board teams. The Red Hat Corporate Finance team is looking for a Senior Manager focusing on corporate financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to join our FP&A team. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include monthly financial and operational insight, reporting (both short and long-term forecasting), review of strategic business and capital investments, and analysis of global performance. You'll need to have a proven ability to understand complex financial problems while providing explanations and solutions which are sound and clearly communicated. You'll need to have a global focus because the core set of your responsibilities will be global by nature. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Manage a team of senior financial analysts focused on supporting the financial investment strategy and value realization for Red Hat's corporate functions
  • Demonstrate insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to provide practical counsel to business partners and management in order to achieve desired business results
  • Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information that will support decision making across functions
  • Develop and refine key business metrics and perform robust analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities while evaluating possible alternatives and recommending appropriate actions
  • Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions
  • Support annual planning for corporate functions and assist in the development of financial-based justification for expenditures, additional investments, and expansion of new or existing business activities
  • Analyze global performance, e.g., financial performance and other operational KPIs, in order to ensure optimal business decisions
  • Provide financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment, expenses, capital expenditures, and headcount trends, including variances of actual vs. budget
  • Work with corporate functions at reviewing annual financial targets or goals, analyses, and measurements to meet expense management and return on investment (ROI) hurdles
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat's global business model in order to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis and benchmarks across the industry for various business functions
  • Maintain knowledge and stay up-to-date on developments in technology, business, finance, and economic theory


Required skills

  • 15+ years of experience working in finance or accounting, preferably in a public company environment
  • Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Hyperion or OneStream, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Solid analytical and interpretation skills
  • Financial modeling experience and understanding of financial statements
  • Result-oriented with excellent critical problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable presenting reports, insights, and plans for action to senior leadership
