What is my role type?

In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We've introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is: Remote

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

Position Overview:

The F135 Engine Program is the sole propulsion system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the world's most advanced fighter aircraft. The F-35 is the largest acquisition program in the Department of Defense and supports the USAF, USN, USMC, 7 partner countries and a growing list of international customers. Our $1B+ aftermarket sector is rapidly approaching 1st interval maintenance and will drive significant top line growth over the next 10 years. Working closely with Program Management, our Finance team provides integrated, comprehensive program business decision making and financial support for all F135 aftermarket contracts. This position includes a wide range of responsibilities that will require regular interaction with the US Government customer as well as F135 Program Leadership.

The selected candidate will have full responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the F135 Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract along with other key F135 contracts as assigned. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead all financial aspects of the F135 IDIQ Spare Parts contract and work closely with the F135 supply chain management and delivery assurance teams.
  • Interface with the RTX billing team and provide guidance and leadership on complex billing issues.
  • Research part costs and determine financial risks and opportunities to the individual IDIQ spare part contract orders.
  • Support IDIQ proposals and negotiations, providing financial leadership as part of the F135 Business Acquisition Team (BAT)
  • Prepare recurring financial deliverables to the customer
  • Monitor all balance sheet items resulting from IDIQ contract activity and lead efforts to reduce unbilled and overdue accounts receivable
  • Prepare quarterly financial EACs and obtain leadership approvals to support accurate revenue recognition across all assigned contracts
  • Support various ad hoc projects as required by F135 Financial Leadership


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or equivalent experience, and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience with US Government contracting is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of SAP is also a preference.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The selected candidate must be comfortable interfacing directly with internal and external customers as a core component of this role
