Job Description

The PayPal Controllership Global Record-to-Report (R2R) organization is looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Accounting Operations with a combination of strong accounting and interpersonal skills to add to our global cross-functional team. The position will report to PayPal's Assistant Global Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • USGAAP and IFRS management of our global monthly close
  • Manage the preparation of certain 10K/Q footnote disclosures
  • Plan, set the policy, and manage the completion of close tasks, journal entries and accounting reconciliations in partnership with our outsourced accounting provider
  • Plan and lead in continuous improvement initiatives including designing, process rationalization, Robotics/Automation, and other system improvements
  • Act as a representative and ambassador for PayPal's global R2R GL functions in discussions with potential projects that impact GL accounting operation matters
  • Data integrity reviews of information in our close management and accounting software
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our partners such as our accounting partners, Local Controllership, Accounting Policy Group, SOX PMO, Global Finance Ops and Finance partners
  • Plan and monitor R2R internal controls and policies and coordinate audit efforts

The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly and can make accurate decisions with limited information. The ability to manage relationships cross functionally through clear communication of goals and objectives is extremely important.
Candidates for this position must have:

  • 10+ years accounting experience at a large growth company and/or Big 4
  • Advanced technical accounting skills to translate guidance from our Accounting Policy Group into accounting steps
  • Strong process improvement skills; proficiency with spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives
  • Attention to detail, be organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • SAP General Ledger system knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent required; CPA or Charted Accountant preferred
