Koch Investments Group (KIG)is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to join the team. In this role, you will create value for the organization as the primary business partner for the Investment team in all finance, accounting and financial reporting matters. The position will interact with business leaders and the Investments Controller to ensure investments are appropriately recorded under US GAAP and in line with underlying economic performance.

The KIG team has offices in Wichita, KS and Atlanta, GA. We may also consider candidates working remotely from a location in the Central or Eastern Time Zone. Travel to Koch HQ and supported locations (including overnight stays) may be required for training/onboarding or to meet priority business demands.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Monitor and perform month-end closing activities, including but not limited to journal entries, accruals and business reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and meeting closing deadlines
• Provide ad hoc information and analysis to other departments (business finance, tax, etc.)
• Work with external auditors and support annual audit process
• Develop useful tools to aggregate and report on investment portfolio performance for individual business segments
• Aid in researching technical accounting treatment and economic reporting of new investment strategies, in collaboration with Business leaders
• Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions
• Advance the Market-Based Management® (MBM®) culture within the team by applying and reinforcing the company's Guiding Principles

The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business-related field
• Career experience in a professional Accounting, Audit, Financial Analysis, Investments, Trading, or similar role
• Working knowledge of general accounting functions and Internal Financial Controls
• Understanding of integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems and database structure
• Analytical thinking; capable of evaluating information and challenging appropriately, and identifying process improvement opportunities
• Ability to effectively communicate and present financial concepts to various internal and external audiences; you are comfortable being seen and heard
• Collaboration mindset that seeks to build working relationships and bridge gaps between partners
• Aptitude and desire for problem solving, adopting and promoting the use of new technologies, learning new systems and improving processes through automation

What Will Put You Ahead

• CGMA, CMA, CPA or Master Degree in Accounting
• SAP, Infor, orother large ERP, integrated accounting system experience
• Experience with a system implementation, system upgrade, testing and/or reconciling transactions between multiple systems
• Experience with Excel macros, SQL/VBA, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx and/or other data visualization tools
• Previous Public Accounting or Large Company Corporate Accounting experience
