The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst directly reports to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and will have primary responsibility for internal and external financial reporting. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will work on a diverse range of areas affecting the business that require critical analysis to determine appropriate accounting, reporting, and disclosure treatment. In addition, the ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our stores, store support center departments, senior management, and external stakeholders. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will also play a vital role in supporting the Controllership function and providing actionable, value-added insights to management.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including internal and external financial statements and footnotes, and assists with MD&A and earnings release disclosures
  • Facilitates the completion and review of monthly and quarterly corporate accounting and close activities, including for debt, stock-based compensation, equity, and other areas as needed
  • Assists the Controller and Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting in researching technical accounting issues, preparing research memos, and providing expert guidance and advice to management for a variety of topics, including the following:
    • New accounting guidance issued by standard setting and regulatory agencies
    • Questions regarding application of the Company's accounting policies and U.S. GAAP related to significant transactions
    • Disclosures for revenue and related contract liabilities, leases, intangible assets, income taxes, and other presentation matters
    • Software development and capitalization policies and procedures
    • Assessment of accounting and financial reporting effects of new business initiatives and transactions
    • Policies and benchmarking for earnings release disclosures and non-GAAP financial measures
  • Provides management teams with appropriate information to facilitate budget, forecast, and other reporting needs, and maintains forecast models for stock-based compensation, diluted weighted-average shares outstanding, and other technical areas as needed
  • Participates in the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies to promote effective governance and accurate financial reporting
  • Maintains relevant financial close and reporting documentation and creates new documentation as necessary to ensure compliance with internal controls, and proactively responds to internal and external audit requests related to areas of responsibility
  • Conducts special projects as assigned by the Director of Financial Reporting, Corporate Controller, and CFO
  • Answers questions from stores as well as store support center departments



Essential Skills

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and closely collaborate with colleagues
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and internal controls
  • Ability to research difficult accounting topics, assist with drafting position papers, and present findings and recommendations to the Corporate Controller, Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, CFO, and internal and external auditors
  • Drive process improvements and develop systematic processes
  • Ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal customers and partner with other functions to improve processes and create value
  • Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail



Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of progressive of accounting or financial reporting responsibility
  • Licensed CPA
  • Public accounting experience



Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

  • Limited travel required including air and car travel
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.



Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
