About the Role:
As the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant you will report to the Manager, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting and play a key role in the preparations of the quarterly financial statements as well as presentations to those charged with governance. You will also have the opportunity to assist with accounting research and complex transactions such as acquisitions and debt modifications. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for the accounting changes and learning opportunities that come with a growing technology company. The ability to meet deadlines and flexibility while handling changing priorities are essential in this position.
What You'll Do:
• Assist with preparation of reporting documents (10-Q, 10-K, proxy filings, prospectus supplements)
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, including newly issued accounting pronouncements.
• Prepare detailed footnote support files and disclosure checklists
• Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit requests as applicable
• Proactively identify issues causing inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes.
• Assists in performing technical accounting research for various areas including revenue recognition, loan modifications, taxes, foreign currency, stock options and other matters and prepare related white-paper documentation
• Assists with preparation of quarterly debt certification reporting packages
• Participates in the research of inquiries from other departments
• Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A, investor relations and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.
• Assist in other duties and special projects as required
What You Need to Succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license is required
• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or combination of public accounting with public company experience
• Excellent accounting skills and strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and SEC requirements.
• Experience working with multiple legal entities
• Ability to prioritize as needed to meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment and cross functionality
• Ability to drive process improvement
• Very strong organizational skills
Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:
• Previous SEC reporting experience
• Excellent Excel as well as analytical and complex spreadsheet skills
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems is a plus, but not required
