About the job
The Red Hat Corporate Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to perform financial analysis in support of the Red Hat corporate planning process in Raleigh, NC or remotely. In this role, you will focus primarily on facilitating the corporate financial planning and target setting process and its stakeholders through the development of quantitative analysis; helping leadership set a course for financial performance. This role provides you the opportunity to contribute insights that guide strategic decision making at the highest levels of the organization with respect to Red Hat internal operations and our corporate level commitments. You will interact frequently with executive leadership from across the globe. Success will depend on your ability to maintain a connected analytical framework to support corporate planning that clearly frames decisions and identifies recommendations. You will also provide leadership and guidance to other teams on planning timelines, milestones, and requirements for deliverables. This is an opportunity to deploy holistic financial and business acumen to solve enterprise level challenges, where you will act as a key facilitator of the overall Red Hat planning community.
What you will do

  • Provide analytical decision support and consultation to finance leadership
  • Develop and maintain corporate planning models
  • Produce well designed and highly accurate presentations and deliverables
  • Monitor performance trends and forecasts and ensure models are up to date
  • Query data and run reports from source systems
  • Work closely with offshore teams to facilitate development of reporting and modeling
  • Innovate improvements to analytical frameworks and processes
  • Communicate corporate level planning timelines
  • Answer questions and articulate planning requirements to worldwide planning stakeholders
  • Develop relationships and build a cross-functional network


What you will bring

  • 2+ years of related professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Expertise in spreadsheet based financial modeling, i.e., sensitivity analysis, revenue forecasting, and time series models using Google Sheets or Excel
  • Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker who is willing to go above and beyond to provide business insights
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Keen ability to handle ambiguity and add structure where necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with Google and Microsoft Office suites


The following are considered a big plus:

  • CPA or solid understanding of accounting principles specifically related to revenue
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working in a software company
  • Experience forecasting revenue in a subscriptions based model
  • Intermediate level capability with tools and systems like Oracle, Hyperion, OneStream, Salesforce.com (SFDC), Tableau, etc.
  • Some database background using SQL
  • Experience working with a global team and solid networking skills
