About the job
The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you'll be a member of the Red Hat Global Finance team reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis. You will perform monthly financial and operational reporting for short-term and long-term forecasting, review strategic business investments, and analyze our global performance. To be successful, you'll need to be able to understand complex financial problems and provide explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated. Excellent communication skills and an ability to support multiple organizations are a must in this role. What you will do

  • Assist in reviewing business functions' financial results following each month and quarter end financial close; provide explanation and support of variances of actual to budget as well as comparative quarters
  • Support yearly planning for the Customer Experience and Engagement and Operations teams and assist in the development of financial-based justification for expenditures, additional investments, and expansion of new or existing business activities
  • Perform monthly financial and operational reporting with commentary
  • Analyze global performance (financial and other operational KPIs) in alignment with finance
  • Provide financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment, expenses, capital expenditure, balance sheet, and headcount trends, including variances of actual to budget and year over year
  • Work with various business functions in reviewing annual financial targets or goals, analysis, and measurement in order to meet expense management and return on investment hurdles
  • Develop an understanding of Red Hat's global business model in order to identify financial trends and provide value-added analysis
  • Provide support to the Manager for strategic investments and preparation of related presentations to executives as may be requested from time to time


What you will bring

  • 3+ years of progressive financial experience including financial planning and analysis; international experience or a background in a technology field is a plus
  • Demonstrated business acumen with an ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Results orientated and motivated with a sense of personal accountability
  • Communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with senior management
  • Problem solving and financial-modeling skills in spreadsheets with an ability to navigate financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with a solid understanding of applied accounting and finance concepts; master's degree in business administration and CPA are a plus
  • Experience with OneStream a plus
