About the opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis ("FP&A") the Sr. Director/ Director of Corporate FP&A will be responsible for all the monthly reporting and variance analysis process , Quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process. He/ She will lead a team of 2-4 financial analysts. In addition to the above this role will also be the finance business partner lead for all G&A functions and will work with the analysts and executives to support the needs. Finally this role will be a valuable partner for the the strategy and M&A organizations as well as Investor relations . This role will be preparing the reporting and analysis for monthly executive and quarterly board reviews. This leader will also work in close partnership with other FP&A leads to bring the story together and work with accounting and global teams to develop accurate , timely and actionable reporting. This is a highly visible role supporting a critical function to Ceridian's growth objectives.

What you'll get to do

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Lead financial analyst(s) responsible for financial planning and analysis in revenue including monthly actual versus forecast reconciliation, budget target preparation, and benchmarking analysis.
    • Collaborate on a monthly basis to create the flash financials for executive leadership as well as quarterly business review materials.
    • Lead the long-range planning and annual budgeting processes.
    • Prepare materials for the CFO, CEO and assist in creating board materials. Drive KPI based analysis.
    • Lead the team to define and institute standard schedules to simplify the digestion of corporate results and enable smooth communication with investors. Manage the analysis, reporting and development of communication materials. Integrate with FP&A processes.
    • Consolidate, analyze and interpret financial and operational data. Accountable for generating management reporting while providing improvements to drive consistency in reporting across all business units.
    • Coordinate FP&A team to ensure all groups are on the same page with regard to monthly reporting, financial analysis, and developing presentations to communicate financial results and challenge variations to the business plan.
    • Accumulate generate insights into business performance to help drive improved financial results and facilitate fact-based decision making. Provide recommendations on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and policy matters.
    • Manage and monitor the quarterly financial forecast, reviewing whether the predicted outcome is within the stated financial goals. When variances occur, work with the finance leadership team to develop operational and financial adjustments as necessary to achieve the company's goals.
    • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Head of FP&A and IR, Corporate Controller, and CFO informed of all critical issues.
    • Continuously look for ways to automate tasks, allowing the function to scale as the business grows.
    • Supervision of direct reports is required in this position.
  • Global Reporting
    • As Ceridian continues to expand globally, this role will serve as a key component to develop and report revenue reporting allowing for insight into Global reporting
    • A trusted partner with leadership in various geographies, like UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Mauritius, or Asia, to help nurture and support global revenue streams.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to track performance for global business lines
    • Lead segment level analysis to be able to analyze performance across customer segments, geography, product lines etc.
    • Maintain key metrics associated with global P&Ls to allow for internal and external benchmarking and reporting.
  • Financial Systems
    • Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and optimization of financial systems to facilitate FP&A activities
    • Responsible for development of custom reporting to aid in the analysis of business strategies and initiatives
    • Provide financial system training on the use of financial systems and serve as a subject matter expert on financial systems within FP&A and the broader finance organization
    • Actively contribute to financial system and process re-engineering efforts within FP&A
    • Configure financial systems and create system specifications to meet financial planning requirements
    • Partner with IT in the implementation and support of finance systems and initiatives

What would make you really stand out

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required, with 10+ years related Financial Analysis, Management experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Management experience within Corporate FP&A function and MBA is preferred.
  • Candidate must have proven experience leading a multi-unit budget and forecast managing multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated experience linking business requirements to corporate needs utilizing the appropriate level of detail to provide consistent, reliable analysis
