Senior Director, FP&A

Fastly is looking for a Senior Director, FP&A. In this role, you will lead our financial planning, management analytics, and business partnering functions. You will work with key stakeholders in Sales/Client Services, Engineering/Infrastructure, Finance/Legal/HR/IT, Accounting, and IR. The role will also have direct exposure to our CFO/Finance Leadership, CEO/Executive Leadership, and Board/Audit Committee. As the leader of this function, you will build and manage a team of six managers/analysts and will report to the SVP of Finance.

What You'll Do

  • Financial Planning:
    • Long-term Model: Build and maintain a financial model to support our long-term strategic plans
    • Annual Budget: Own the process to generate our annual plan and key financial and operational targets  
    • Quarterly Guidance: Deliver timely and accurate forecasts for top-line growth and operating profit for Wall Street
  • Management Analytics:
    • Performance Tracking: Measure and explain the variance of actuals vs. forecasts to ensure accountability
    • Business Analytics: Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to support internal management, our board of directors, and the investment community
    • Decision Support: Develop financial templates that bring financial rigor to key investment decisions 
  • Business Partnering:
    • Sales/Client Services: Liaise closely with the revenue operations team on top-line forecasts, sales productivity, compensation plans, and department budgets
    • Engineering/Infrastructure: Work with engineering leadership and  infrastructure finance on managing capital expenditures, cost of revenues, and department budgets
    • Finance/Legal/HR/IT: Partner with the G&A functions on functional budgets, and key investments in people, workplaces, enterprise systems, and consulting services
  • Function Management:
    • People: Hire and develop a team with a healthy culture and abilities to help scale our business   
    • Systems: Enhance Adaptive financial planning tool and its integration with Netsuite and Workday systems 
    • Process: Document key business processes, deliverables, roles and responsibilities, and data sources

What We're Looking For

  • 9+ years of experience in FP&A, Accounting, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or related field
  • Familiarity with CDN, software, colocation, networking, or cloud infrastructure domains would be beneficial 
  • Knowledge of planning (Adaptive), reporting (Netsuite), BI (Looker), and payment (Coupa) systems 
  • An analytical and forward-looking thinker that can solve business challenges
  • The ability to deliver high-quality work products that are accurate, timely, and insightful
  • A record of building relationships within the organization
  • Excel/Powerpoint fluency coupled with effective oral/written communication
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, engineering, or a quantitative discipline
  • CPA or MBA is a plus but not required
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to grow with the role/company

In accordance with applicable law, Fastly’s minimum base pay for this role if hired in Colorado is $191,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fastly's equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations. Note that this role is available to candidates outside of Colorado and different minimum compensation may apply.
