Senior Director, Capital Markets & Risk
Capital One is seeking a motivated professional for a Senior Director role within Corporate Treasury. The leader will be responsible for managing a newly created centralized payments function for Finance and for leading certain international Treasury activities. Importantly, the Senior Director will implement and maintain well managed operations, deliver strong operating results while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and other statutory requirements. This individual will lead a team of high performing associates delivering high-touch service to groups across Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team responsible for executing global payment requests and certifying counterparty standard settlement instructions accurately and efficiently
- Lead International (United Kingdom) Treasury activities for the company including the forecasting of cash, daily cash management, correspondent bank relationships and market, liquidity and capital management.
- Produce comprehensive and real-time risk reporting and monitoring, including payment health metrics
- Reduce operational exceptions and drive efficiencies via automation, elimination, and transfer of processes away from manual touchpoints
- Influence risk stakeholders through active and collaborative engagement
- Enable a strong culture of risk management that's adaptable to a changing environment
- Continuously look for emerging risks within Finance, across the business and the payments industry to help us stay front-footed
Senior Directors in Treasury are highly motivated professionals with excellent organizational, leadership, communication and influence skills. They are experienced in operating in a highly dynamic environment and can balance the needs of multiple stakeholder groups and changing business needs. They have an ability to work with executives to create innovative solutions and can think strategically, while maintaining attention to detail.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Strong subject knowledge and experience in Payments and of Corporate Treasury Functions
- Experienced managing high performing teams in diverse locations
- Strong critical thinking with an ability to balance changing priorities
- Prior experience working effectively in a collaborative environment
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Google Suite
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 11 years of experience in risk management, or accounting, or finance, or a combination
- At least 5 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in Capital Markets Operations managing payment activities for a large organization
- At least 10 years of experience in a Corporate Treasury function
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification or a combination
