Senior Director, Banking Management
About the role
As Senior Director, Banking Management, you will oversee our critical business partnerships and set the strategy for Chime’s relationships with its banking partners. You will lead a team of strategic partnerships managers to deliver against our day-to-day priorities and serve as the senior escalation point between our partners and the Chime executive team. Essentially, you will be the face of Chime with our partners, and also serve as their advocates internally to ensure Chime’s banking platform is positioned for long term success to best serve the needs of our business, growth, and product roadmap. This role will report to Chime’s VP, Lending Products and Banking Strategy, a member of the Chime Executive Team.
For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $255,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect toÂ
- Lead a team of strategic partnership managers to improve our day-to-day relationships and execution across our existing partner banks
- Negotiate many deals with our bank partners to support new products, ensuring we are compliant with any applicable regulatory requirements, while maintaining durable economics
- Manage the runway for our growth, keeping an eye on our growth targets, partner bank balance sheets and liquidity, and technical considerations to make it all come together
- Drive cross-functional alignment with key stakeholders internally and championing new strategic initiatives with our partners
To thrive in this role, youÂ
- Have expertise in the banking market and competitive landscape
- Have deep familiarity with the regulatory landscape in banking, fintech, and financial services, with relevant experience leading teams in highly regulated environments
- Have executive level relationship building skills, able to serve as an escalation point and drive to resolution complex, challenging topics
- Are comfortable weighing competing interests internally and externally, driving hard to a data driven outcome
- Have a proven track record of driving alignment across multiple levels of the organization, from Risk analysts to senior executives with diverse perspectivesÂ
- Have strong negotiation skills, with the ability to constructively approach challenging negotiations
- Are driven by results and enjoy doing whatever it takes to execute on complex, high-pressure projects under tight deadlines
- Have a low ego and a knack for collaborating with a wide variety of people
- Have 15+ years of work experience, including:
- Managing critical vendor and partner relationships in Financial Services at the company level, serving as the senior point of contact responsible for delivering on must-have relationships and initiatives
- Working within a high growth Fintech startup
- Experience in consumer banking
- Experience at a Top Tier management consulting firm preferred
