Senior Corporate Accountant
goPuff is seeking a dynamic Senior Corporate Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team as the company rapidly expands.
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for conducting accounting research and providing technical accounting support to cross-functional team members in a timely manner. This role will review and advise on technical accounting issues for appropriate GAAP treatment, including new accounting pronouncements and other complex accounting matters as they arise, and will be responsible for the general ledger accounting reconciliations for those complex areas. The role will also directly support the Company’s financial and other reporting requirements in accordance with GAAP or other applicable frameworks.

Responsibilities
- Research and document technical accounting issues that arise including issues relating to stock-based compensation, earnings per share, business combinations, variable interest entities and other complex accounting topics.
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for stock-based compensation and equity, business combination purchase price allocations, and debt financing related transactions.
- Assist the ASC 842 project implementation team in developing accounting policies and procedures related to the accounting standard adoption.
- Prepare and maintain corporate accounting policies.
- Draft quarterly and annual financial statements including footnote disclosures.
- Perform balance sheet and income statement variance reviews and assist in developing a comprehensive analytical review package for executive management.
- Manage lender compliance with periodic covenant calculations and financial reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the Company’s internal controls and assurance activities, including assisting with the preparation of internal controls documentation and remediation of internal controls gaps, as identified.
- Continually assess our processes and procedures and implement changes to promote efficiency, with a primary focus on improved use of technology.
- Assist in various special projects as the arise including the adoption of other new accounting standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 3-5 years of public accounting or other relevant experience
- Strong interest and experience in working with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills - verbal and writing
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Good at working independently – proactive & self-starter
