This role is to play an integral part in all aspects of accounting operations with opportunities to work on various projects as we scale. The ideal candidate will be someone who can roll up their sleeves to work on different areas of the month-end close and help implement systems that can scale and improve upon processes. The Senior Accountant should enjoy a fast-paced environment, be a team player and have an excellent ability to prioritize individual and team objectives while developing the accounting infrastructure at Credit Karma.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute on all aspects of accounting operations, including but not limited to A/P, A/R, fixed assets, prepaids, general ledger
  • Own the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting models as a key participant in the financial close process
  • Lead and assist in field work for interim and annual audits
  • Assist with researching and resolving technical accounting issues 
  • Ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

What’s great about the role:

  • Maintain and improve upon the current accounting infrastructure, ensuring that all financial systems and files stay in sync with the general ledger 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new systems and internal controls that meet the Company’s business growth and culture 

Minimum Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, with increasing levels of responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Combination of Big 4 CPA firm background and industry experience
  • Detail oriented and can operate in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and with the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • NetSuite experience is a plus
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred
