Senior Consultant, Financial Operations

West Monroe has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Consultant to help deepen our Financial Management consulting practice. This is a dynamic role that will work closely with our clients to improve processes, provide advisory on finance operations and platforms, while applying best practices to their organization. This role will also have an opportunity to work with other WM practice areas like M&A, Corporate Transformation, and industry vertical teams. The Senior Consultant will have three main responsibilities:
Client Delivery:
- Fulfill relevant Project Manager duties, including managing overall project plan and managing of the project financials
- Oversee and own deliverable development
- Manage project economics including: track project budgets, create and deliver invoices, and manage collection process
- Mentor and develop staff on the job and through formal feedback
Practice Development:
- Participate in and support the firmwide team in development and enhancements to the
- Financial Management methodologies, tools and other collateral
- Actively participate in thought leadership activities such as blogs, white papers and other related efforts
- Collaborate with local office leadership to define how to align practice with office strategy and other practices
- Coach and manage other consultants and actively participate in the performance expectation process
- Actively participate in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants
Business Development:
- Participate in meetings, development of proposals and other efforts related to Financial Management
- Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
- Assist in creating work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for opportunities
Participate in our business development process as a subject matter expert
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Operations Management, Engineering, MIS, etc.)
- 3+ years of “hands on” ERP configuration and/or use
- 3+ years of progressive experience in understanding and/or configuring Corporate Performance Management (CPM) systems (e.g., Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, Host Analytics, etc..)
- Willingness and ability to develop and coach our junior team members
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications and customer relations skills
- Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Hands on functional knowledge of at least one ERP solution (knowledge of mid-market ERP landscape a plus) and/or functional knowledge of at least one CPM system
Must have been an active team member on at least 2 full-cycle platform implementations - Finance functional knowledge within the following areas: Lead to Close, Order to Cash, Plan to Report, Procure to Pay, Plan to Produce, Recruit to Retire (any other industry specific knowledge is a plus (TMS, WMS, PSA, EAM…etc.))
- Understanding of US GAAP
- Experience with financial close/consolidation processes, process improvement reviews, and M&A transactions (integrations, carve-out, best practice advisory)
- Software Selection and Platform Strategy a plus experience a plus
