The Senior Construction Accountant supports the accounting department of Amherst Homes focusing on Build-To-Rent and Studio Build assets. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions, including inter-departmental and inter-company transaction reconciliation. This position will report to the Construction Accounting Manager.

  • Reporting of financial activity related to department responsibilities
  • Review and process financial transactions and record the activity via journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts, as well as monthly bank statements
  • Complete the month-end close and generate the financial statements and reporting packages for a group of entities.
  • Assists in annual audit providing supporting documentation
  • Ad hoc reporting and process documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need to have:

  • BS in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • A mix of Public and Private Experience preferred
  • Experience in real estate, or construction preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Proficiency with Yardi preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
