In this role, which is based in our New York, NY offices, you will be a part of the team responsible for the preparation of the financial information filed with the SEC and the review and assessment of Spotify's technical accounting matters. You’ll assist business partners make informed decisions around key commercial matters while maintaining accounting compliance. Success involves working with a diverse and cross-functional team, domestically and internationally and assisting in delivering on strategic decisions and improvements within the finance organization to effectively help prepare Spotify for its continued future growth, both organically and through acquisitions. What You'll Do

  • Assist with the timely preparation and review of financial information filed with the SEC, including Forms 20-F and 6-K
  • Assist in the preparation of certain monthly corporate accounting entries such as stock based compensation.
  • Assist in evaluating accounting and financial reporting considerations for accounting topics including, but not limited to intangible assets, leasing, stock-based compensation, financial instruments and business combinations
  • Collaborate with key business partners across the business including FP&A, Legal, Licensing, R&D, Operations and Internal Audit, as part of the operational and technical implementation of new agreements or transactions
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure complex arrangements and new products are properly and efficiently implemented

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting working with SEC registered companies
  • Big 4 experience, highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and be an actively licensed CPA
  • Experience with growth companies in high technology, music or entertainment industries are a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and regulations 
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts such as revenue recognition, business combinations and stock-based compensation
  • Ability to research technical accounting matters and assist with the preparation of technical accounting memorandums and presentations 
  • Brings a detail-oriented and hands-on style and the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast moving company with a wide variety of strategic initiatives
  • Experience with reviewing contracts and evaluating business and accounting implications
  • Have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills 

Where You'll Be

  • Hybrid role based in our New York offices (2 to 3 days a week is required)
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern time zone for collaboration
