Department Description

The M&A Finance team is dedicated to due diligence and end to end integration support of our acquisitions. Reporting into the CFO, our team supports the deal life cycle from pre-diligence through integration. Functions include M&A Due Diligence, Finance & Strategy, Integration Management Operations (including SOX) and Revenue Operations, with a focus on successfully integrating back-office functions before they are transitioned into the Salesforce core business. As acquisitions are a key part of our company's growth strategy, we are seeking to build scale and efficiency into our integration processes while being nimble and flexible enough to tailor an approach that is suitable for each acquisition. We partner closely with Cloud leaders and the Corporate Development team, working together to properly incubate and support acquired business and to accelerate their growth.

Role Description

Salesforce is looking for a talented and dynamic Senior Analyst to work on the M&A Finance SOX readiness team within M&A Finance Integration Management Operations (IMO). The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong initiative, ownership and passion as well as excellent project management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Success in this role requires an individual who: 1) Understands accounting and financial reporting; 2) Understands business processes including supporting systems, upstream/downstream dependencies, and how those processes ultimately impact financial reporting; 3) Understands Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance including the design and execution of internal controls; 4) Can work effectively with others in a collaborative environment that values teamwork, diverse perspectives, and finding solutions that address the needs of all stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of M&A SOX Programs, the Senior Analyst will support the Company's growth with compliant, efficient and scalable business processes. The position will assist in improving existing processes, integrating acquired entities and building new processes associated with change events that regularly occur at a high growth company.

A successful candidate will enjoy defining a path to clarity and success where ambiguity currently exists, has excellent organization skills and enjoys working in a challenging, non-traditional and fast-paced environment.

This includes executing on the following key responsibilities:

  • Prioritize trust over all else to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain the M&A SOX compliance dashboards.
  • Communicate regularly to project teams, including key stakeholders and management.
  • Identify/anticipate and resolve program obstacles
  • Manage recurring formal communications to all employees within the organization who have M&A SOX compliance responsibilities
  • Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting and / or tech industry SOX compliance (preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and respond to changing business and technical environments
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience managing deliverables and milestones where there is ambiguity or competing approaches with respect to the best path to success.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to take ownership and work autonomously to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement through innovation.
  • Ability to use analytical skills and data as a tool for decision making.
  • Takes ownership of tasks and effectively manages time of self and others.
  • Ability to effectively lead projects and interact, verbally and in writing, with individuals throughout the company at varying levels.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships, credibility and influence to partner effectively with stakeholders and improve decision-making and outcomes.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills with team members, ability to partner with remote and cross-functional teams.
