ABOUT THE ROLE


The Credit Policy team at Happy Money plays a key role in driving profitable loan growth while delivering best-in-industry risk-adjusted-return to financial partners. To take Payoff Loan to the next level, we are looking for an innovative credit risk analyst with a general manager mindset. This position reports to the Director of Credit Policy.


This is a 100% remote role (Based in the United States)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Ownership of credit policies that determine approval/decline decision, pricing, and loan limit; recommend and implement changes to existing policies
  • Manage risks to originate loans with industry-leading return and resiliency for capital partners, while continuing to drive asset growth
  • Partner with data scientists on credit risk scoring model development, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Lead credit bureau and alternative data research, business case design, and cost-benefit analysis. 
  • Identify loan performance trends, monitor risk KPIs, and manage over/underperforming segments to improve loan quality and/or asset growth.
  • Influence end-to-end borrower acquisition process, balancing risk, profitability, and customer experience.

ABOUT YOU

  • 2+ years of experience in credit risk strategy and analytics
  • Strong passion for consumer lending industry
  • Proficient in analytical scripting language such as SQL & R
  • Good business understanding of machine learning models
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor's degree or higher level program in a quantitative field such as math, economics, engineering.

  • Expertise in credit bureau data
  • Experience applying alternative data to supplement credit bureau data 
  • Experience with the personal loan asset class
