Position Summary
The senior accountant position is accountable for the supporting multiple aspects of Caldwell's financial function. These duties include Fixed Asset Accounting, supporting cost accounting and various other activities. This position schedule is a hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 remote.)
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities
Fixed Asset Accounting:
- Coordinate Capital in Process monitoring to ensure open projects are completed
- Accounting for fixed asset capitalization, retirement, sale
- Manage monthly depreciation reporting
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
- Prepare information needed for annual audit, tax package reporting
Cost Accounting:
- Prepare Weekly Labor and Scrap reporting
- Partner with sites to analyze and address variances
- Review and improve the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems
Payroll:
- Partner with HR to establish payroll controls and review weekly payroll
- Maintain GL interface in Paycom
- Responsible for posting Payroll Journal and reconciliation Payroll related accounts
Additional:
- Coordinator for company credit card process (Concur)
- Preparation of recurring Journal Entries
- Perform account reconciliations and expense analysis.
- Review financial reports for accuracy, reasonableness, completeness
- Perform other related duties or special projects
- Identify gaps and opportunities in existing processes, recommending change action and executing for success
- Assistance on annual audit and tax prep work.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in accounting is required; MBA or CPA is a plus, but not required
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and with ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail, strong analytical background, coordination of multiple projects and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic team-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
- High level of initiative and the ability to take personal ownership, going beyond assigned tasks to improve project execution
- Adaptability to changing work assignments, flexibility with duties
- Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Must be a constant learner
