Flint Hills Resources is seeking a contribution minded Senior Accountant/Auditor to join our Vendor Audit team in Wichita, KS!

This position will engage, challenge, and provide fulfillment to a candidate with strong critical thinking and communication skills, economic focus, and attention to detail who enjoys collaborating with others, and who seeks to originate ideas that can provide new insights for our business.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the procure to pay process and contracting philosophy
  • Assess vendor risk and areas of opportunity by applying an economic approach
  • Self-manage multiple audit life cycles at various stages including vendor selection, planning, engagement, analysis, reporting, and collection
  • Partner with Procurement, Operations, and Accounting to knowledge share vendor performance and promote stronger controls
  • Communicate effectively and share knowledge across multiple internal and external customers
  • Generate meaningful reports for internal and external use to communicate audit findings and observations
  • Identify and drive process improvements/innovations with a control mindset
  • Travel up to 10% including overnight



The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:

  • Experience in procurement, accounting, and/or audit
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (Eg: spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, formula creation, etc.) and/or Access (Eg. data mining, query writing, etc.)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher



What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience managing unstructured data projects with multiple sources of input
  • Professional designation in accounting or audit (CPA, CIA, CMA)
  • Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience writing audit reports and executives summaries
