Within Chubb, the Corporate Accounting and Finance team (CAF) is seeking an established accounting professional to work with the AVP, Consolidations and Project Lead (AVP) to address effective and efficient transaction flow for existing consolidation activities, support the execution of continuous improvement strategies across Chubb's finance function, and coordinate merger & acquisition integration workstreams. Collaborating with multiple finance and business stakeholders within corporate finance and other Finance / IT / Business Teams, this role provides a great opportunity to lead and execute on a high visibility - high impact body of work for the organization.

Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Duties:

Supporting the consolidated financial reporting environment across Chubb, including:

  • Assessment of current consolidation workflow including general ledger data inputs, routine and ad-hoc ledger reports used for internal and external reporting.
  • Data governance and accuracy as it pertains to the internal (management) and external financial statements. This entails monitoring of financial information used by CAF personnel including support of Chubb SEC filings under US GAAP.
  • Evaluation and determination of the efficiency and effectiveness of Chubb's quarterly management consolidation deliverables, called the Internal Reporting Packages (IRP). Understand the impact of the data upon Chubb's financial statement disclosures to analysts and shareholders.
  • Partner with segment and functional finance teams to assess the existing state environment and help implement process enhancements and efficiencies, leveraging technology and automation whenever possible.
  • Assist with identification and execution of process efficiencies and improvements.

Support the AVP to manage selected corporate accounting & finance projects end to end. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Execution on project plans for Corporate finance related projects. This entails defining and operationalizing processes and controls.
  • Partner with the project lead and workstream stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify issues, obstacles, and risks to the project's success. Assist to facilitate practical / executable solutions.
  • Partner with individual workstream owners to drive execution of those critical path items identified by Management
  • Leverage existing tools and processes and / or assist to develop and implement new tools and processes to achieve overall objectives.
  • Enable successful migration of critical path projects to a business-as-usual operating environment.

Staff the financial reporting function for a recently acquired book of business, providing financial analysis and controllership services, including,

  • Consolidation and reporting of US GAAP financial results for relevant entities including P-GAAP.
  • Financial analysis insights and commentary pertaining to actual / reported results, including completion of quarterly reporting packages.
  • Coordination with the SEC Team, Segment Finance Teams and local finance teams as required to meet both internal and external reporting requirements (e.g. SEC filings, disclosures, MD&A, footnotes, earnings call preparation, etc.)
  • Assist with design and execution of key controls to ensure accurate financial reporting related to the operation / consolidation.



Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in Finance / Financial Management function (e.g. financial reporting, audit, FP&A, etc.).
  • P&C or life insurance industry experience preferred
  • Bachelors' or Master's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.
  • Demonstrated accounting experience including financial reporting and financial analytical (FP&A) skills.
  • Process improvement mindset and thought process.
  • Project experience including executing on project plans.
  • Sound technical accounting skills and ability to understand and act on difference between US GAAP and local accounting guidance (IFRS, statutory, etc.).
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders including Segment Finance, Local Finance, IT, Corporate Finance and other teams.
  • Attention to detail coupled with ability to translate detail into robust analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor approach based on audience / stakeholders.
