About the Role
This role will be very hands on and play an integral part in all aspects of accounting operations with opportunities to work on various projects as we scale. The ideal candidate will be someone who can roll up their sleeves to execute accounting operations and help implement systems that can scale and improve upon processes. The Senior Accountant should enjoy a fast-paced environment, be a team player and have an excellent ability to prioritize individual and team objectives while developing the accounting infrastructure at Spin.
What You Will Do
- Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Assist in preparing certain revenue estimate entries as well as reviewing and analyzing deferred revenue balances
- Assist tax preparers with federal, state, local, and special tax returns as well as sales/use tax filings paperwork for all Spin susidiaries
- Ensure integrity of financial records and prepare for annual financial audits including preparation of various audit schedules
- Manages Lease Accounting for operating and finance leases per ASC842
- Lead day-to-day, monthly and quarterly close activities
- Play an active role in process improvement projects including implementation of enhancements to our ERP systems and processes
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to implement and maintain strong internal controls
- Help with monthly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement expense account
- Assist with analyzing and preparing certain accrual entries
- Ensure intercompany transactions are recorded correctly and the correct currency and foreign exchange rates are used
What You Will Need
- 4-6 years industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Accounting ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong organizational skill and attention to details
Preferred
- Public Accounting experience, CPA or CPA equivalent (or in progress)
