The Opportunity


Kandji is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the daily functions within our Finance & Accounting team. This role will be primarily focused on revenue/commissions and provides an exciting opportunity to lead and drive the vision, development, and continual improvement to Kandji’s revenue accounting process. The successful candidate will execute on Kandji’s world class vision on financial reporting, streamlined financial systems, IPO readiness, and support Kandji’s rapid growth.

Day to Day

  • Complete primary review and validate all executed contracts, confirm compliance with internal policies & ASC 606; ensure all information required for order submission is documented and accurate
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales and Revenue Operations to ensure efficient, timely and accurate sales order processing and resolution of discrepancies
  • Build out the revenue accounting and financial reporting capabilities to support Kandji’s rapid growth
  • Drive internal process improvements; help to measure and assess performance of revenue accounting and work to identify and implement opportunities to eliminate, standardize, and automate accounting-related tasks.
  • Support Revenue Operations on Order to Cash automation initiatives and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system implementations
  • Own Commissions software, accounting, and distribution of commission statements to Sales/Customer Success teams
  • Responsible for period-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics for various accounts
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages and financial statements in accordance with investors’ requirements and GAAP
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of company-wide revenue and commission accounting policies and controls; maintain a documented record of policies/procedures
  • Provide subject matter expertise on accounting for complex transactions, research and support the implementation of accounting policies
  • Involvement with implementation of new ERP
  • Help prepare the company for first year financial audit
  • Assist in external auditors’ requests, including preparing supporting schedules and answering auditors’ inquiries

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of responsibility and execution within a global accounting function ideally with SaaS experience, including demonstrated success within an accounting role
  • Experience with a recurring revenue business model including a deep understanding of ASC 606
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • CPA a plus but not required
  • Experience working with revenue management & commissions software; SaaSOptics and Palette experience a plus
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and metrics-driven leveraging data to support business decisions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
