Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

In this role, you'll get to:
- Be the subject matter expert on lease accounting including analyzing accounting treatment for new leases, lease modifications in accordance with IFRS and discussing accounting outcome with business partners; Own the lease accounting process from lease schedules and entries preparation to footnote disclosure accuracy;
- Own stock-based compensation accounting including technical accounting research for non-standard grants and modifications, monthly entries and quarterly disclosures;
- Help prepare and facilitate the review of Atlassian's financial statements and related footnotes for quarterly and annual SEC reporting, annual UK reporting and other international statutory reporting;
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for Atlassian's financial statements and lead the tie-out process to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of disclosures between the Company's SEC filings, analyst presentations and other external reporting materials;
- Ensure controls over financial reporting are operating effectively and maintain documentation of processes and procedures in order to ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility;
- Assist in government and census reporting and other survey requests;
- Assist with ad-hoc technical accounting needs.
More about you
- You have strong attention to detail and are passionate about getting financial statements in great shape in both form and content
- You have experience with share-based compensation accounting and lease accounting, as well as a good understanding of financial statements
- You are an effective project manager, proactive, and organized to meet deadlines
- You are a highly productive self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to rapid business changes that accompanies a high-growth environmentYou have a degree in Finance or Accounting and are pursuing CPA
- You have 3+ years of work experience, preferably with Big Four public accounting experience supporting public companies
- You are confident in your ability to communicate both orally and in writing, including the dissemination of technical accounting and related information in technical accounting memos
- You are able to work effectively cross-functionally through all levels of an organization, from peers through executives, as well as with external auditors and consultants
