Exciting opportunity with a full-service CPA firm located in Carmel Valley: We are seeking a Senior Accountant/Account Manager for our client accounting team. This position will be an integral member to the firm, working closely with both internal staff and management, as well as clients and service providers to meet core business objectives.

Job Description:

The position of Senior Accountant requires a full-time commitment (40+ per week). In addition, the qualified candidate must have related experience and an educational background supportive of the job qualifications and responsibilities listed below.

The Senior Accountant will be the direct client liaison for accounting clients. It is imperative to have the ability to multitask, perform under pressure and meet deadlines imposed by management, clients and government agencies. The Senior Accountant should have the ability to supervise other team members. Our team works closely together on projects and certain accounts, so the Senior Accountant must have the ability to work closely with fellow staff, as well as be able to independently with little supervision when necessary. Proactive communication is key to the success of this role.

Required Experiential Background:
• 5-10 years related work experience required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Deadline driven
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks online
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Sales and Use Tax reporting
• Experience with 1099 & 1096 reporting
• Knowledge and familiarity with property tax reporting (571-L)
• Familiarity with payroll processing

Preferred Experiential Background:
• Experience managing 2-4 team members
• CPA or CPA Candidate a plus
• 1-2 years of audit experience helpful

Required Educational Background:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting from an accredited university.

Job Qualifications and Responsibilities:
• Closely monitor projects, budgets, deadlines and staff workload for multiple clients.
• Month end close process including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, expense accruals, fixed asset reporting, month-end journal entries.
• Check writing, accounts payable, customer invoicing, accounts receivable, etc.
• Preparation of balance sheet schedules and other work papers.
• Prepare financial statements and related reports.
• Creation of custom financial reports to meet client needs.
• Frequent and proactive communications with clients at all levels.
• Coordinating with internal team and client personnel to complete month-end processes timely.
• Preparation of sales tax returns, payroll tax returns, property tax returns, 1099's and other quarterly/annual filings.
• Responsible for meeting budgeted time requirements on a per client basis.
• Client payroll processing and any associated payroll filings.
• Ad-hoc projects as assigned.
• Ability to conduct QuickBooks training sessions with clients as necessary
