About the Role


Groove is looking for a highly motivated individual to help scale our fast growing company. You will participate in contract review to analyze accounting for certain transactions, research accounting outcomes, and optimize processes. We are a small, but mighty team, looking for a quick learner with great ideas, who can make a big impact at this pivotal time in the company's growth. The role will report directly to our Revenue Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and be the trusted advisor to the sales teams, collaborating on deal structure, with a focus on the accounting impact 
  • Partner with Sales / GTM / Legal / Finance teams to resolve complex contract issues and develop solutions in compliance with business practices and policies 
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition for a variety of different products with a focus on ASC 606
  • Prepare customer invoicing and troubleshoot any billing issues
  • Meet critical deadlines on a monthly basis, including month end journal entries and reconciliations for AR and revenue activities in Netsuite
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Identify process improvements and formulate creative solutions when needed
  • Become an expert on our billing and revenue recognition system to troubleshoot issues, recommend improvements and implement changes
  • Support accounting/G&A team on ad hoc analysis and projects

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of sales process and ability to navigate complex deal terms and structure
  • Maniacal focus on small and large improvements to give the best tools and experience possible to Sales
  • Deep understanding and experience with Salesforce and CPQ
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to describe detailed issues and resolutions
  • Strong spreadsheet (Excel and Google Sheets) skills required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 2+ years Deal Desk experience
