Accountant - Western USA or Seattle

We are currently seeking a Accountant to join one of our client teams.

The Accountant is a collaborative team member supporting various project accounting functions for the account. If you are a clear communicator, organized with effective time management skills, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt, with the highest standards of behavior, collaborative manner and work ethic then this role is for you.

What this job involves:

  • Responsible for invoices, accruals and monthly analytics to assist in the cashflow process.
  • Develop and improve internal processes.
  • Invoice Validations - verify coding, funds, and SOV reconciliations;
  • Research variances and work with PMO Finance and/or Vendor to resolve; obtain invoice approval from SPM/Leadership
  • Update Vendor spend in BFA (VLOOKUP formula using invoice export from Project Link
  • Track invoice status
  • Communicate invoice monthly due and follow-up with Vendors on late submittals.
  • Reconcile JLL, Vendor and Project Link balances and resolve variances working with Vendors and/or PMO Finance on a quarterly basis.
  • Own invoice (and accrual) processes. Identify process gaps and design and initiate process improvements.
  • Request and forward monthly Vendor accruals to PM Finance.
  • Develop internal accrual process and reporting.
  • Responsible for providing monthly spend/variance analysis.
  • Working with SPMs to document accrual/invoice variances greater than client threshold.
  • Document explanations and/or potential issues impacting schedule, cost etc. and included in monthly analytic reporting.
  • Develop internal cashflow process and reporting with Finance lead based on data requirements related to spend and other responsibilities as defined by manager.
  • Assist in Finance Projects - (examples of upcoming projects)
    • Improve automation of existing tracking processes;
    • Coding reallocation project - new WBS codes impacting contracts and prior invoice allocations;
  • Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
  • Special projects and other functions as required by manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Up to 2 years relevant experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Demonstrated financial competency at a detailed level of operation
  • Ability to collaborate across many levels
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy and ability to make effective decisions and solve problems
  • Strong organization, analytical, and coordination skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent level of customer service skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to tasks assigned
  • Excellent interpersonal skills / interpersonal sensitivity
