POSITION SUMMARY

Looking for a high energy individual with PBM pricing experience, an ability to drive change, and a desire for substantial growth within the role.

The Express Scripts Market Development team is dedicated to helping our Health Plan partners win, retain, and grow pharmacy lives in their respective employer group markets. This is accomplished by being change agents within our partner organizations and obliterating hurdles (both within the partner organization and within ESI) to ensure our partners maximize the value of their PBM relationship and are cutting edge with their pharmacy benefit offerings.

The Market Development Pricing Strategist Advisor works closely with the Market Development Principal to drive pricing strategy, macro & bid specific, for a book of regional HP partners. The Pricing Strategist Advisor will provide consultation on pricing strategy that ensures HP partners win, retain, and grow pharmacy benefits for employer group business. Additionally the role will work cross functionally within the Market Development Team and Health Plan Division Pricing organization to support a new platform that administers employer group level pricing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PBM Pricing Consultation

  • Serve as PBM Pricing SME for Health Plan partners, interacting with Health Plan Underwriting, Sales and Pharmacy Teams.
  • Drive pricing strategy with Health Plan, utilizing the Commercial go-to-market strategy, and leveraging PBM economics levers while maximizing wholesale PBM contracts.
  • Consult on opportunity specific bid strategy including leveraging market intelligence to increase competitiveness
    • Conducts forensic bid level analysis and engages with broker/consultant to obtain, understand and implement bid feedback.
  • Provide guidance for PBM Contracting and help create pharmacy proposal documents such as pricing contract language templates.
  • Liaise with ESI pricing organization to ensure alignment and maximization of economic value to all parties.
  • Remain abreast of relevant pricing trends, actively engage in market intelligence regarding pricing terms, concerns and optics. Manage competitive deal database.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Must have 5+ years of PBM pricing or sales/consulting/business development experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare consulting industry dynamics which includes brokers, consultants and coalitions
  • Strong presentation skills with articulate, clear messaging
  • Experience and comfort level in communicating with VP level and C-level contacts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tool preferred
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and report on common sales metrics
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Demonstrate strategic business decision making experience
  • Ability to tolerate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare and PBM industry required
  • Strong focus on book of business client satisfaction and client retention results.
  • Demonstrated strong project management ability
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 15%.



This role requires 15% of travel. You will need to be fully vaccinated in order to travel & meet the requirements for this position.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $91,500 - $152,500, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
