WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Provide portfolio administration and management support to Relationship Managers in facilitating the monitoring of existing loans and related responsibilities. Serve as a liaison within the region's team to ensure all loans are documented according to the loan approval.
Real Estate Banking Division
Make your mark as a member of City National's Real Estate Banking group. Be part of the team that provides a comprehensive array of banking products and services to experienced real estate developers and investors including, but not limited to, acquisition, construction, bridge and permanent financing of commercial real estate. Product types include: Multifamily, Industrial, Office, Retail, Self-Storage, Senior Housing, and For-Sale Housing.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Audit loan conditions and covenants (prior to loan origination) to confirm provisions are consistent with the loan approval documentation.
- Designated lead officer for the team for compliance requirements. Work with the Relationship Managers and RED Compliance Officer to ensure the timing and accuracy of information in the loan files is in compliance according to CNB loan policy and regulatory requirements.
- Document real estate property-level income statements received into Moody's.
- Audit loan covenants (after loan origination) for adequacy. Advise Relationship Managers of any covenants that are not in compliance. Identify, follow up, and/or escalate waiver exceptions to Relationship Managers, Team Manager, Credit Manager or Division Executive, as appropriate.
- Communicate with clients as needed with little to no supervision to obtain current property or client financial information.
- Update status dates for Annual Credit Review and Annual Asset reviews via systems of record.
- Ensure closed loans are in doc imaging for compliance audit (Appraisals, Credit approvals, term sheets, environmental, cost analysis, financial info etc) (Reg B requirements)
- Responsible for Salesforce hierarchy assignment, pipeline entry and tickler maintenance
- Pull information from systems as requested (i.e. AFS, IBS and Synergy)
- Coordinate the collection of insurance renewal documentation for existing loans when required. Coordinate with loan administration to ensure that insurance renewal coverage complies with established Bank standards.
- Assist with KYC system updates
- Confirm risk rating and coding of loans is consistent with loan approval documentation and monitor (via Trial Balance reports) on an on-going basis. Communicate with Relationship Managers on potential risk rating changes they are considering. Document memos as needed for risk rating changes or correct coding information.
- Assist with preparation of OFAC CIS Addendum and Beneficial Owner Form for closing/modifications, etc. upon request.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Minimum 3 years' experience in real estate loan servicing or support
- Minimum 3 years experience in a commercial bank or other financial institution
- Minimum 3 years of basic computer experience required (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel , Outlook, and Powerpoint)
Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of commercial real estate lending, construction lending
- Demonstrated knowledge of Loan documents
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
