As a Payroll Analyst, you will support the timely and accurate processing of North American payroll. Position reports to the Payroll Supervisor and/or Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • In addition to possessing the knowledge and depth of experience of a Payroll Practitioner in a multi-state environment, the ideal candidate would be someone with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to work efficiently and accurately. This individual strives for excellence to produce quality work and a quality customer experience.
  • Support bi-weekly payrolls to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages for approximately 5,000 employees across the US and Canada.
  • Research and resolve employee inquiries relating to payroll questions and issues, via email, phone and in person.
  • Respond to inquiries to internal groups such as HR Shared Services and HR Benefits.
  • Reconcile various payroll, tax and benefits reports; analyze and research discrepancies.
  • Work with US Human Resources group and maintain the payroll systems and ensure accurate calculation of pay rates and withholding taxes required by federal, state and other taxing jurisdictions.
  • Support regulatory and compliance reporting for both federal and various states.
  • Assist in supporting audit requirements/schedules and requests (e.g. external and internal auditors for SOX compliance and financial audits, as well as regulatory compliance audits).
  • Support workers comp, state & local, 401k and other audits/reviews/inquiries
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and other information.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested



Requirements:

  • 4 plus years proven experience processing payroll in a large, multi-state environment, including pay data entry and data validation.
  • Self-motivated and analytical, as well as possess strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Detail oriented and has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet strict timelines with limited supervision.
  • Above average time management and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in excel, including pivot tables and vlookup
  • Strong familiarity with Federal, State and Local withholding and unemployment compliance requirements.
  • Strong team orientation including recognition of the importance of respect, communication, compromise, reliability, knowledge-sharing, and engagement within the team and with other groups.
  • Ability to apply best practice ideas by taking a big picture perspective to merge the principles of payroll with the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with ADP Vantage and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or comparable degree preferred.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll requirements a plus, but not required.
  • Positive, "can do" attitude a must
