The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring for a Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Buffalo, NY. Our ideal candidate has prior experience processing payroll for multiple legal entities at a high volume along with a high numerical aptitude, experienced working with payroll and accounting software (PeopleSoft and ADP a plus), and adapts well to process evolution. You'll use your skills to timely and accurately process payroll for 100+ legal entities across 34 states. This role can be hybrid, in office 3 days per week at our global headquarters. Parking is provided in the attached ramp garage.

Per city, state, or client mandate, all current and new hires at this location are required to have received an authorized COVID 19 vaccination. You will be asked to confirm this prior to receiving a job offer.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate end to end payroll processing of 100+ legal entities of thousands of associates in 34 states on a weekly basis.
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Preparing and distributing income statements.
  • Work with appropriate resources to resolve any payroll-related inquiries and transactions in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management and agencies.
  • Administers process for garnishments, ensuring set-up, changes, calculations, and disbursements are all handled accurately and timely with third party vendor (ADP).
  • Acts as field processor for salaried and home office payrolls.
  • Process requested manual checks.
  • Validate and upload tip files daily.
  • Process historical punch edits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required, degree in accounting, business, or related field is preferred.
  • Previous payroll experience is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working in payroll or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
  • Experience working with accounting and payroll software.
  • High numerical aptitude and detail-oriented.
