Job Description:

General Description:

Under general supervision, performs varied payroll tasks in coordination with the payroll department to ensure the accuracy of payroll data for OU Medicine Inc.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates back up for the Payroll Coordinator by mastering the tasks necessary to prepare, process, and complete payroll processing
  • Ensures that all data entered into payroll software is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintains and inputs payroll adjustments for employees
  • Monitors timekeeping system for errors, keeping all departments up to date with reviewing and approving all records.
  • Monitor and maintain garnishment payroll transactions including payroll deductions and payments between OUMI and all involved third parties.
  • Test direct deposit transactions prior to processing payroll.
  • Create, format, upload and validate various data input files into the payroll system.
  • Review various audit and reconciliation reports as part of the payroll process.
  • Maintains employee payroll records.
  • Maintains filing system for payroll and related records.
  • Friendly, efficient front-line payroll support for employees.
  • Follows up on employee inquiries relative to their compensation.
  • Prints and distributes copies of Paystubs and W-2's when requested.
  • Distributes employee pay checks.
  • Opens and organizes mail as needed for the department.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Ensures that employee are paid in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Assists in handling all time sheets, deductions, and adjustments.


General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School or GED

Experience: 1 year of experience with responsibility in payroll or accounting

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
  • Use computer software programs and/or other applications
  • Deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to assume responsibility for assignments and to perform them in accordance with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
