Position at Clear Capital

Clear Capital is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function and drive inclusive practices to support and fuel Clear Capital's business growth. Clear Capital has added more than 400 team members since January 2021, with a projected double digit growth rate in 2022. This trend can be attributed to our continual growth in market share, combined with our ever expanding innovative product line. As the Payroll Manager, you will have a strong business acumen and drive with data integrity in mind. This role is responsible for all payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with all local, federal and state regulations. You will have the unique opportunity to scale our Payroll capability as we continue to grow. A successful incumbent should be able to demonstrate passion, empathy, rigor and excellence in streamlining processes and managing Payroll.

What You Will Work On

  • Manages, implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, supplemental payments, garnishments, taxes, deductions as well as compliance with year end reporting requirements.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and aligns with best practices.
  • Ensures data integrity by conducting regular internal audits and resolves findings in a timely manner.
  • Partners with the Legal/Compliance and Finance/Accounting Teams by providing records and documentation to auditors and performing corrective actions.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Processes manual payment calculations and ACH funding requests.
  • Manages distribution of semi-monthly paychecks to employees.
  • Builds relationships, evaluates, manages and negotiates with third party vendors.


Who We are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Five or more years of demonstrated in-depth experience in a comparable role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
  • Proficiency with payroll software.
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with little to no supervision with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal relations skills.
  • A great sense of fun and a relentless can-do attitude.
