Lyft‌ ‌is‌ ‌looking‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌highly‌ ‌motivated‌ ‌individual‌ ‌to‌ ‌join‌ ‌our‌ ‌Accounting‌ ‌team‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌Payroll‌ ‌Manager.‌ ‌This‌ ‌candidate‌ ‌must‌ ‌be‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌demonstrate‌ ‌the‌ ‌ability‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌fast‌ ‌paced,‌ ‌dynamic‌ ‌and‌ ‌rapidly‌ ‌changing‌ ‌environment.‌ ‌This‌ ‌role‌ ‌will‌ ‌manage‌ ‌daily‌ ‌operations‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌US‌ ‌and‌ ‌Canadian‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌functions,‌ ‌ensuring‌ ‌all‌ ‌payments‌ ‌made‌ ‌to‌ ‌our‌ ‌employees‌ ‌are‌ ‌accurate,‌ ‌timely,‌ ‌and‌ ‌in‌ ‌accordance‌ ‌with‌ ‌all‌ ‌federal,‌ ‌state‌ ‌and‌ ‌local‌ ‌tax‌ ‌regulations.‌ ‌In‌ ‌addition,‌ ‌this‌ ‌role‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌responsible‌ ‌for‌ ‌cross-functional,‌ ‌collaborative‌ ‌efforts‌ ‌to‌ ‌improve‌ ‌and‌ ‌enhance‌ ‌current‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌processes,‌ ‌prepare‌ ‌and‌ ‌develop‌ ‌a‌ ‌variety‌ ‌of‌ ‌reports‌ ‌for‌ ‌external‌ ‌and‌ ‌internal‌ ‌resources,‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌accurate‌ ‌tax‌ ‌filings,‌ ‌as‌ ‌well‌ ‌as‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌the‌ ‌policies‌ ‌and‌ ‌procedures‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌department‌ ‌are‌ ‌documented‌ ‌and‌ ‌in‌ ‌compliance‌ ‌with‌ ‌SOX.‌ ‌

The‌ ‌ideal‌ ‌candidate‌ ‌is‌ ‌one‌ ‌who‌ ‌demonstrates‌ ‌a‌ ‌strong‌ ‌knowledge‌ ‌of‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌processes‌ ‌and‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌taxes,‌ ‌with‌ ‌an‌ ‌attention‌ ‌to‌ ‌detail,‌ ‌strong‌ ‌collaboration‌ ‌and‌ ‌team‌ ‌management‌ ‌skills,‌ ‌and‌ ‌has‌ ‌a‌ ‌work‌ ‌history‌ ‌that‌ ‌clearly‌ ‌demonstrates‌ ‌job‌ ‌stability‌ ‌with‌ ‌increasing‌ ‌levels‌ ‌of‌ ‌responsibility.‌ ‌

Responsibilities:

  • Manage‌ ‌the‌ ‌disbursement‌ ‌of‌ ‌US‌ ‌and‌ ‌Canada‌ ‌payrolls,‌ ‌including‌ ‌benefits,‌ ‌taxes,‌ ‌401K‌ ‌activity,‌ ‌incentives/bonuses,‌ ‌as‌ ‌well‌ ‌as‌ ‌any‌ ‌other‌ ‌related‌ ‌compensation‌ ‌adjustments,‌ ‌while‌ ‌ensuring‌ ‌compliance‌ ‌with‌ ‌federal,‌ ‌state,‌ ‌and‌ ‌local‌ ‌county‌ ‌regulations‌ ‌
  • Manage‌ ‌the‌ ‌performance‌ ‌of‌ ‌ADP‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌vendor‌ ‌compliance‌ ‌to‌ ‌SLAs‌ ‌
  • Establish‌ ‌a‌ ‌process‌ ‌for‌ ‌monthly‌ ‌and‌ ‌transactional‌ ‌control‌ ‌reviews‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌processes‌ ‌are‌ ‌compliant‌ ‌with‌ ‌established‌ ‌department‌ ‌internal‌ ‌controls‌ ‌and‌ ‌SOX‌ ‌
  • Ensure‌ ‌the‌ ‌processing‌ ‌of‌ ‌new‌ ‌hires,‌ ‌temporary‌ ‌workers,‌ ‌transfers,‌ ‌promotions‌ ‌and‌ ‌terminations‌ ‌are‌ ‌completed‌ ‌accurately,‌ ‌timely‌ ‌and‌ ‌in‌ ‌compliance‌ ‌with‌ ‌regulations‌ 
  • Manage‌ ‌employee‌ ‌inquiries‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌compliance‌ ‌to‌ ‌Payroll‌ ‌department‌ ‌SLAs‌ ‌
  • Manage,‌ ‌mentor‌ ‌and‌ ‌coach‌ ‌a‌ ‌team‌ ‌of‌ ‌Senior‌ ‌Payroll‌ ‌Specialists‌ ‌
  • Lead,‌ ‌recommend‌ ‌and‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌projects‌ ‌to‌ ‌continually‌ ‌review‌ ‌and‌ ‌improve‌ ‌current‌ ‌processes‌ ‌and‌ ‌internal‌ ‌controls‌ ‌
  • Manage‌ ‌and‌ ‌audit‌ ‌W-2s‌ ‌and‌ ‌yearly‌ ‌administration‌ ‌of‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌in‌ ‌preparation‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌following‌ ‌calendar‌ ‌year‌ ‌
  • Build‌ ‌and‌ ‌nurture‌ ‌strong‌ ‌working‌ ‌relationships‌ ‌with‌ ‌all‌ ‌levels‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌organization.‌ ‌Work‌ ‌closely‌ ‌with‌ ‌3rd‌ ‌party‌ ‌providers,‌ ‌HR,‌ ‌Finance,‌ ‌Accounting,‌ ‌and‌ ‌others‌ ‌to‌ ‌resolve‌ ‌issues‌ ‌and‌ ‌drive‌ ‌end-to-end‌ ‌process‌ ‌improvements‌ ‌
  • Maintain‌ ‌communication‌ ‌with‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌service‌ ‌providers‌ ‌regarding‌ ‌software‌ ‌updates‌ ‌and‌ ‌new‌ ‌products‌ ‌available‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌initiate‌ ‌the‌ ‌use‌ ‌of‌ ‌new‌ ‌features‌ ‌
  • Perform‌ ‌other‌ ‌duties‌ ‌as‌ ‌assigned‌ ‌

Experience:

  • BS‌ ‌degree‌ ‌in‌ ‌Accounting,‌ ‌Business,‌ ‌Finance‌ ‌or‌ ‌equivalent‌ ‌experience‌ ‌preferred‌ ‌
  • CPP‌ ‌preferred‌ 
  • 7+‌ ‌years‌ ‌of‌ ‌relevant‌ ‌experience‌ ‌in‌ ‌payroll‌ ‌operations‌ ‌
  • 3+‌ ‌years‌ ‌of‌ ‌experience‌ ‌managing‌ ‌teams‌ ‌
  • Excellent‌ ‌organization,‌ ‌oral‌ ‌and‌ ‌written‌ ‌communication‌ ‌skills‌ ‌
  • Must‌ ‌be‌ ‌detail-oriented‌ ‌
  • Advanced‌ ‌computer‌ ‌skills:‌ ‌Microsoft‌ ‌Excel‌ ‌and‌ ‌Word‌ ‌
  • Prior‌ ‌experience‌ ‌with‌ ‌Workday,‌ ‌ADP‌ ‌Globalview,‌ ‌ADP‌ ‌eTime‌ ‌and‌ ‌Schwab‌ ‌preferred‌ ‌
