We are looking to hire a dynamic Payroll Manager to join our company’s accounting department. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll which includes overseeing company payments, reviewing payroll changes and compiling payroll summaries for management to review.
To ensure success as a payroll manager, you should be able to create strategies for the continuous improvement of payroll systems and process. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and managerial skills and the ability to supervise personnel working on payroll and related projects.
What You’ll Do
- Manage all aspects of the payroll process from payroll entry ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local labor and tax laws for multiple payroll schedules, multiple entities and payroll throughout multiple states.
- Be the subject matter expert for proper treatment of all payroll transactions including but not limited to leave of absence pay, ESPP, stock options, restricted stock and 401(k)
- Partner closely with People Operations team on employee changes and payroll related items
- Implement, transform and maintain payroll systems
- Supervise personnel involved in payroll ensuring timely and accurate payroll and ensuring best practices are adhered to.
- Audit payroll transactions to ensure that accounts, payment dates and taxes are accurate and up to date
- Manage the calculation of any self-bill employee benefits
- Create monthly and annual payroll reports, including issuance of W2’s and associated KPI’s
- Manage 401k audit
- Attend to any payroll related questions from employees
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, human resource management or similar field
- At least three years’ experience as a payroll manager
- Familiarity with labor legislation and federal and state tax laws
- The ability to ethically work with employee-sensitive data
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with team members
Bonus Points If
- Familiarity with Oracle and or ADP payroll systems
- International payroll experience
- Implemented a payroll system
- Grown a payroll department with the needs of a high growth company
