Summary: This position is responsible for performing all tasks required to successfully run and process payroll. Opening vendor tickets and troubleshooting unique scenarios. Interpreting company policies and government regulations affecting payroll. Responding to associate inquiries. Completing monthly and ad-hoc reporting. Participating in special payroll related projects. Providing guidance to the team to ensure accurate payroll and timely problem resolution.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Lead bi-weekly payroll processing which includes the Import and audit of timesheets data into a payroll system to calculate and process a bi-weekly payroll.
  2. Input and review data for the recording of new hires (and other status changes), pay rates and changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, direct deposits, etc.
  3. Maintain the time management system. Open and re-open timesheets, review, audit and approve timesheets for Managers who are out of the office, research discrepancies in PTO balances, add holidays to the system for new calendar year and post holidays for new year and recent new hires.
  4. Open vendor tickets and work with vendor through resolution.
  5. Provide guidance and direction to Payroll Specialist. Troubleshoot unique scenarios that arise through the course of processing payroll.
  6. Partner with Benefits team to ensure accurate benefit and leave processing.
  7. Complete the maintenance of earnings and deductions codes and record other payroll related functions within the company's HRIS system. Ensure that all taxes, Social Security contributions, contributions to associate benefit programs, and other deductions are withheld from individual paychecks. Assist in the preparation and filing of all required reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance carriers, other organizations, and individual associates.
  8. Communicate with associates (individually and/or via mass announcements) to explain payroll related items/issues.
  9. Identify and resolve payroll related problems within the company, payroll vendor, and banks.
  10. Prepare and create standard monthly/quarterly/ad hoc reports and reconcile all payroll related general ledger accounts.



What You'll Bring To The Company:

High school graduate or equivalent education and experience required; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred. 6+ years of payroll experience is strongly preferred. Experience with UltiPro is strongly desired. Must be well organized, detail oriented and have confidence to work independently but also be a strong team player. Must possess strong math skills and the ability to analyze information and make appropriate conclusions and recommendations. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is preferred.
