General position summary:

Directs Sterling Lexicon's expense administration, payroll, and closing teams in delivering quality service and results to transferees. Manages the delivery of daily expense reimbursements and payment of vendor invoices, as well as the auditing, production and periodic reporting of the related payroll information to Sterling Lexicon's clients. Monitors and maintains processes and internal controls to assure timely and accurate service delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the management of the expense administration (E/A) function, including the support and processing in L360 of employee expense reimbursement requests or vendor invoices, and the ultimate disbursement and billing based on accurate input.
  • Oversees the management and delivery of scheduled payroll deliverables to Sterling Lexicon clients, including the timely and accurate completion of Year end true-ups and related W-2 generation.
  • Oversees the management of closing function, such as closing payout and final bill to client.
  • Provides guidance and support to managers in the creation and maintenance of process documents.
  • Oversees the training, coaching, career development, and performance appraisal activities for E/A, Payroll and Closing team members.
  • Identify and manage implementation of systems and process improvements.
  • Act as primary point of contact for troubleshooting and issue resolution when necessary for E/A, Payroll, and Closing teams. This may include the need to manage or direct system queries, system report generation, or to develop technology specifications in conjunction with Sterling Lexicon's Technology team.
  • Acts as primary point of contact for other Sterling Lexicon internal teams to assure cross-functional understanding of the team's requirements to delivering service to clients and transferees.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors performance measures for team members as well as the department's deliverables.

Education & Experience:

  • Experience with payroll operations, preferably in relocation industry
  • Ability to learn new payroll/relocation software as needed
  • Ability to interpret changes in processes required to gain maximum efficiency
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills required, ability to manage in all directions
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organizational and analytical skills



Travel:

  • Less than 10% required.



Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.



Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



Computer Operations:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
