Role Overview
The Managing Director of Finance and Operations will have responsibility for overseeing and directing the organization's financial planning, systems, and business operations to support the execution of our strategy. This role will oversee the finance, information technology, and systems and administration team at Search Discovery and collaborate/support other group companies as needed.
What you need to have
- 10-12+ years of related experience leading financial and business operations in a services and/or SaaS business.
- Strategy, planning, and management experience with the ability to contribute to executive planning and decision making, manage a team and effectively work across a broad array of stakeholders.
- Proven ability in creating, implementing, and evolving a system of key metrics and financial measurements use to measure operating and financial performance and help drive executive decision making.
- Experience in selecting, designing, and implementing scalable systems and processes across a company
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence / poise.

What you’ll be doing
Strategy and Planning
- Partner with the Executive leadership team to drive strategic finance and operations decisions.
- Support the development and implementation of our overall financial and operations strategy to support our long term vision.
- Partner with and collaborate with other group leaders to ensure alignment with finance, IT, and legal best practices and guidance for the entire group.
Finance
- Perform analysis of company performance, versus plan and forecast, and communicate findings to leadership team
- Coordinate and lead the company monthly forecasting activities and annual budgeting process
- Provide analysis, and support for pricing new business opportunities and contract renewals
- Provide investment analysis and decision support for all short-term and long-term investments
- Support strategic initiatives, such as M&A activity, integration, development of a long range strategic plan
- Support the Finance team and other group companies as required
Business Operations
- Provide strategic guidance and day to day management over critical business operations including Information technology, business systems, reporting, and legal.
- Engage with procurement, legal, and other support teams from group operations teams to support growth and needs of the business.
What you need to achieve
- Establish a deep understanding of company and group best practices and establish a plan for the ongoing development and maturation of our financial, IT, systems, and legal processes.
- Develop and mature critical metrics and analysis to measure performance of key business processes and show positive impact and improvements to financial and operational metrics.
- Identify, plan, and execute initiatives across the team to ensure our business processes and systems are scaling to meet the needs of the business.
Location: Atlanta, GA office or Cleveland, OH office
