Job Overview

The role of the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting and Reporting is critical in assisting management in providing financial statements oversight by reviewing and analyzing financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate will contribute to the team as both a mentor and a subject matter expert on technical accounting research and financial reporting. The role is a leader in the Controllership organization and reports to the Director of Technical Accounting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Corporate Development teams on significant, complex, or non-recurring transactions
  • Assist with the review of the completeness and accuracy of the GAAP financial statements and the monthly reporting for the senior management team, which includes qualitative and quantitative commentary of the company's operational results
  • Participate in the month-end close process by overseeing complex transactions such as capitalization of internally developed software, management reserve estimates, goodwill, intangibles, etc.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional groups within the company to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
  • Support the uplift of existing accounting policies and processes to comply with leading practices.
  • Research and document new regulations, GAAP pronouncements, and internal technical issues and assist in the implementation of solutions.
  • Assist in the coordination of the audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Conduct research, formulate well-written position papers and operationalize the accounting of on various complex transactions including M&A, debt and equity financing, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, consolidations, etc.
  • Assist with M&A due diligence, accounting assessment, and documentation including purchase price allocation, policy harmonization, and integration.
  • Support the preparation and tie-out of SEC filings including Form 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, Proxy, etc.
  • Mentor, coach and develop employees through communication and training on new GAAP developments and Company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive the implementation of special projects.



Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • CPA certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 10+ years of combined public company and "Big 4" or other large public accounting firm experience with a minimum of 4+ years of people management.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statements including the ability to present solutions succinctly to leadership.
  • A healthy sense of curiosity to learn the business and keep up with the ever-changing accounting environment.
  • Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-written memorandums.
  • High energy level and ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced, innovative company environment.
  • Able to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ownership and accountability of the work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Positive attitude.

  • Strong personality, able to work with, challenge, and convince key stakeholders, driving to outcomes, with a determined focus to get things done
